Going a bit against my style, I am going to write a few tidbits about my weekend. It wasn’t the most eventful weekend of my life, but it covers some fairly interesting topics. Here we go.
I decided I’d visit Kitty, my girlfriend, at her place over the weekend. We live about 45 minutes apart. So when we visit each other, it’s usually for the entire weekend. When I got to her place, I found out her A/C was out. I walked into one of the most humid, sultry houses I’ve ever been in. Friday was a hot day, too. She said the A/C would be out until Monday. If she hadn't have had to work the next day, we would have made the trek over to my place. We hung out and really didn’t do much that night. But it is
On Saturday, I woke up and went to work out. I’m not a musclehead or anything, but if you don’t work out regularly, I strongly recommend it. I used to swim in college, and I was in the habit of swimming and lifting weights for hours each day. When my time was done with swimming, I needed a break. It’s amazing how quickly your body breaks down when your good habits are not being practiced. I played softball about 3 times a week, but that really isn’t exercising. So I started getting ashamed of myself and joined a gym called 24 Hour Fitness. Here, there are no excuses for not going to work out. They are open at all hours 363 days a year (Easter and Christmas are closed). I got back into the swing of things in January and I feel like a new man. I dropped back into my college wardrobe in about a month or so and I
don’t like the feeling and think it will become a regular thing. This isn’t the way to do it. Take it easy and enjoy yourself. Don’t exercise in a way that you don’t like. There are tons of ways to get in shape by doing something you enjoy. Swimming, walking, lifting, playing basketball or racquetball, and cycling are all great ways to get a workout. If you don’t believe me, get a trial membership somewhere and see for yourself.
Afterwards, I went to Texas Land and Cattle and enjoyed a nice steak. There’s nothing better than eating a nice piece of beef when you are starving. I went back to Kitty’s and waited for her to get off of work by catching some sun by the pool. I’m going to the Guadalupe River next weekend to float. Last year I got roasted so I need to put a base tan on myself before going. Going to the Guadalupe is a new tradition me and some friends started last year. The river is near New Braunfels, Texas. We stay at a place called Mountain Breeze. It is a campground with a small restaurant, volleyball courts, and horseshoe troughs that is right on the river. We rent tubes and we drop into the river and float down. If I had to put a base generality on it, I’d say it’s like Mardi Gras on water. People are blaring music from the houses along the river and shooting water balloons at the floaters. People rent tubes solely for ice chests full of beer. Adults and children alike are standing on the banks with ice chests full of Jell-O shots and sporting signs saying “Show your Boobs for a Shot!” It’s a big party with
When Kitty got home, we got ready to go to one of her friend’s birthday party. I really did not want to go because I wouldn’t know anyone. But I heard they were going to have a poker table so I quickly changed my mind. We arrived and I sat at the poker table immediately following introductions. Texas Hold ‘Em has become so popular that you can’t turn on a television
On Sunday, the only thing we did of interest was watch Star Wars Episode III. I hadn’t seen it yet, but was almost burned out on all of the media hype. I say almost, because I was still excited as hell. SWE3 lived up to every bit of the hype in my book. In a way, it’s like Titanic. We knew the ship was going to sink just like we knew Anakin was going to become Darth Vader. What happens in between is what makes the story. The story was great, and they didn’t leave it with Darth coming up in the costume ready to kick ass. They set things up for the original, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope perfectly. If you are just waiting for this one to come out on DVD, don’t cheat
Like I said, it’s an average weekend for most, other than the air conditioner being broken. But that’s a glimpse into the life of T-BONE! Now it’s back to the grind of staring at my computer and trying to make some “sweet moolah.”
Here’s the status of my mailbag: (empty)
Until next time, throw up a T for… T-BONE!

amazing how we take everyday things for granted. I
cannot imagine living in the South 100 years ago
without air conditioning. I weighed myself before going
to work out on Friday. I also weighed myself at the
end of the day on Saturday. I had lost 7 pounds. No
matter how hard I work out or diet, there's no way I’m
losing 7 pounds in a day. That’s the result of me
sweating out some water weight.
sleep 200% better. When I leave the
gym, I really feel refreshed rather
than tired. A little bit of cardio and a
little lifting really makes me feel like I
have completed my day. There are
people who get a membership, come
in once and overdo it and are so
sore the next day and cannot move.
Then they give up because they
1000 of your strangest friends. When
we reach our destination, our
campground is called and they come
pick us up so we can start again. Last
year, I got burnt to a crisp because we
made about 5 trips down the river each
day. Hopefully, by getting a base, I can
avoid that. I’m still a bit skeptical.
(that subscribes to cable that is) without finding a
channel with a poker game on. I realize that Rounders
helped popularize the game, but Hold ‘Em is just plain
fun. I swear I must have played for 6 hours. I did pretty
well, but this one jackass who didn’t know what he was
doing kept throwing me off. He would play into the
crappiest hands when he didn’t have cards. But when I’d
bet him big, he’d be holding three Jacks. That ended up
being my demise in the end, but it was still a fun game
and a good time. I’m always up for a good card game.
yourself. Go see it on the big screen and enjoy it. I don’t want to spoil
anything, but there was only one thing I
was disappointed in. I’m sure it will be
resolved in the director’s cut, but this
movie really played into the scenario
that there was a big battle on the planet
of the Wookies. Well, we get a glimpse
of that battle, but not a whole lot
develops from that. It’s more of a set-up
for things to come. That’s my only
complaint, but it is a minor one at that.
Texas hold 'em (or simply hold 'em or
holdem) is the most popular of the
community card poker games. It is the
most popular poker variant played in
casinos in the western United States,
and its no-limit form is used in the
final event of the World Series of
Poker (abbreviated WSOP), widely
recognized as the world championship
of the game.
In 2003, holdem exploded in
popularity as a spectator sport in the
United States. This was due to several
factors, including the introduction of
lipstick cameras that allowed the
television audience to see the players'
hidden cards. ESPN's coverage of the
WSOP featured the unexpected
victory of Internet player Chris
Moneymaker (his real name), an
amateur player who gained admission
to the tournament by winning a series
of online tournaments. Two additional
holdem series debuted in 2003, the
"World Poker Tour" (abbreviated WPT)
and "Celebrity Poker Showdown". Both
of these shows are still currently in
production and garner a large and
loyal viewership. Holdem is commonly
played in the rest of the world as well,
but seven-card stud, Omaha hold 'em
and other games may be more
popular in some places.
Although it can theoretically be
played by up to 22 players, it is
generally played with between 2 and
10 people. It is one of the most
positional of all poker variants, since
the order of betting is fixed throughout
all betting rounds.

Founded in 1993, Texas Land &
Cattle's prototype restaurant evolved
from the purchase and conversion in
1995 of the famous Night Hawk
restaurant in Austin, which had
satisfied appetites for seven decades.
Founders David Franklin and J. Aron
Fogiel created an authentic Texas
ranch house setting with large
fireplaces, booths, and portions,
reflecting the famous Texas 'bigger
and better' brag known throughout the
country.
Texas Land & Cattle has since
expanded to seventeen locations in
Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio,
Lubbock, and Albuquerque, New
Mexico and will continue to add new
locations throughout the West.

Three years after the initial battle of
the Clone Wars, the long and tiring
conflict between the Separatists and
the Republic is nearing its end.
However, Obi-Wan Kenobi, now a
Jedi Master, and Anakin Skywalker,
now a Jedi Knight, learn a shocking
development. Coruscant is under
attack! They hurry back to Coruscant
to counter the attack led by General
Grievous, the leader of the Separatist
droid armies, and a much bigger
threat than even Count Dooku, a
former Jedi turned Sith. They are now
charged with bringing him to justice,
but there is more going on than just
an attack on the center of the
Republic. Little by little, Chancellor
Palpatine transforms the Republic
into a tyrannical regime, putting him
at odds with the Jedi Order and a few
non-corrupt senators, who have all
grown weary of his staying in power.
Anakin, on the other hand, has grown
closer to Palpatine, but he also suffers
from disturbing visions of his
wife-in-secret, Senator Padme
Amidala. He has been leaning closer
and closer to the dark side since
before the Clone Wars began, and
Palpatine encourages him to
embrace it. When it all comes down
to it, Obi-Wan Kenobi will have no
choice but to face his former
apprentice in battle, and as the Clone
Wars end, the seeds will be sown for
yet another conflict which will
determine the fate of the galaxy.
