Not So Reverent
The Bone Pile
April 21, 2006

Why is it that every time something controversial in the black community
happens, Jesse Jackson seems to get himself involved?  I know he goes by
the term Reverend,  but exactly what does that mean?  Is he a man of
God?  I think he's a hypocrite and I'm going to tell you why.

I'll start with the latest news on Jesse.  Most of us are aware of the Duke
Lacrosse team story going on right now.  In short, the Lacrosse team threw
a party and hired a stripper. Now the stripper is claiming that at least 3 of
the players kidnapped and sexually assualted her.  I don't want to
speculate on the truth of the accusations in this column.  I just want to know
why the hell Jesse Jackson has himself involved in it.  Oh, that's right!  The
stripper is black and the entire Duke Lacrosse team is white.

So, here we have Jesse raising money to get the stripper free tuition to any
American university.  Why?!?  Again, he's the Rev. Jesse Jackson and he's
campaigning for a woman who sells her body for sexual viewing.  Should a
man of the church be representing such a woman?  Argue all you want that
Jesus hung out with Mary Magdalene, I agree with you.  But Jesse only got
involved because this is a black vs. white case.  Anyone who believes
anything different is oblivious to the world.

The last time I heard of Jesse in the news was right after Hurricane Katrina.
He appeared in New Orleans rallying for the cries of black people against
George Bush.  I have even heard that he started the rumor that Bush's
administration blew up the levee so he could flood the black people out of
New Orleans.  WOW!  Did he point any blame at Mayor Ray Nagin?  No.
Did he chastise anyone for the atrocities that happened in the Superdome?
No.  He just showed up to attack George Bush and say how much Bush
and his administration ignore the poor black people.

Yep, he was there on the forefront of the OJ Simpson trial.  Black man on
trial, 2 white people dead.

He was there for Michael Jackson, who used to be black.  The accuser was
white.  Do you see the pattern yet?  I'm not pointing out anything new, I
know.  I just want to put in print just how much I think this guy sucks.

I have heard about one good thing that Jesse Jackson did do.  He was
apparently involved in getting some American hostages in Iran realeased
many years ago.  But even Chris Rock jokes about it by saying Jesse
probably said, "Hey, Iran!  You really want to piss those white Americans
off?  Give the hostages to ME!"  Chris Rock knows what's up.

I didn't bother to check Jesse Jackson's credentials.  Truth be told, I do not
care.  If he truly believes he is a man of God, he will represent all people,
no matter what color they are.  Because of people like him, we still get the
"race card" pulled in any incident that involves people of 2 separate
ethnicities.

I've said my piece and counted to three.  Until next time.

T-BONE!
Although Jesse Jackson is known
mainly for his works in the civil rights
arena, many people have alleged
that Jackson uses his influence and
reputation primarily to extort
businesses for his personal gain.
Jackson is seen by his critics as using
racial politics to advance himself and
his family's financial interests. Some
of the allegations are covered in the
book Shakedown: Exposing the Real
Jesse Jackson by Kenneth R.
Timmerman. Due to this he is
frequently referred to as "Je$$e
Jack$on" on the internet.

In a 1969 Life Magazine interview,
Jackson said that when he worked as
a waiter in a Greenville, South
Carolina restaurant, he would spit into
the soups and salads of white
customers. "[Spitting into the food]
gave me a psychological
gratification," Jackson said.

Jesse Jackson, his mistress and his
wifeDuring the contested election of
2000, Jackson quickly became
involved in pro-Democrat
demonstrations in the state of Florida.
Shortly afterward, it was revealed that
Jackson (married since 1963) had an
affair with a staffer, Karin Stanford,
that resulted in the birth of his
daughter Ashley. The Rainbow Push
Coalition had paid Stanford, $40,000
to relocate her to Southern California,
in addition to a continuing $3,000 a
month in support, and $365,000 in
funds from Rainbow Push were also
used to purchase Stanford’s house.
Many commentators questioned the
legality of these payments and
charged that Jackson was paying
“hush money” to Stanford. [7]

This seriously damaged Jesse
Jackson's credibility even among long-
time supporters, and for a brief time
prompted Jackson to withdraw from
activism. During this time, it was
suggested by some commentators
that Al Sharpton had usurped
Jackson's position as the leading
figure in the African-American
political movement. Jackson
appeared at several anti-war rallies in
opposition to the 2003 invasion of
Iraq. However, Jesse Jackson has
often been the center of controversy.
Critics of Jackson (including the
African American Jesse Lee Peterson,
founder of BOND) claim that he has
exploited poverty stricken African
Americans in order to make money
and gain political power.
